《实用英语》系列教材是我国“体现以培养英语应用能力为宗旨的第一套专科英语教材”（教高司〔1997〕60号文件），开创了“实用为主，够用为度，应用为目的”的高等职业教育英语教学内容体系和课程体系。本系列教材自1995年面世以来，历经近30年教学实践检验，蝉联“九五”到“十四五”历届国家规划教材，斩获“全国普通高等学校优秀教材一等奖”“教育部普通高等教育精品教材”“首届全国教材建设奖全国优秀教材（职业教育与继续教育类）二等奖”等荣誉。 第七版教材深入贯彻党的二十大精神，深度融入数智化教学资源，以适应新时代高等职业教育英语教学改革和发展要求，并兼顾应用型本科教学实际。本次修订主要体现在以下几个方面：1.深化价值融入，培育时代新人 本次修订更新了教材选文及练习素材，将社会主义核心价值观与职场情境创设、语言技能训练有机融合，培养学生的职业使命感和责任感，落实立德树人根本任务；以真实职场情境为依据取材，更新时效性素材，反映新趋势、新发展等，培养学生讲好中国故事、传扬工匠精神的能力。2.优化结构体例，匹配教学需求 遵循课标对教学阶段和教学课时的调整，优化教材结构和定位，明确单元目标，以3册、每册6个单元的体量覆盖基础模块及拓展模块。其中，前两册对应基础模块，满足共性学习需求，各单元覆盖课标中的“高等职业教育专科英语课程基础模块主题类别”；第3册定位为拓展模块，支持学生继续学习与个性发展。3.调整单元设计，提升教学效率 遵循语言学习规律和教学实际，重塑单元结构。新增听说训练并置于每单元阅读文章Text A之前；技能拓展与训练模块（Skills Development and Practice）中的听、说、读、看、写、译模块相互联系又自成体系，教师可根据实际情况灵活教学，高效实施；阅读文章Text B置于单元最后，定位为泛读模块。4.融合智能工具，赋能教学改革 配备与教材内容深度融合的智能助手和智能课程。在单元导入环节（Getting Ready）引导学生利用智能助手辅助预习和思考；在写作训练中引导学生使用人工智能提示语，提高写作能力，以更好地应对未来职场中的各项任务。智能课程将协助教师使用智能工具开展教学，在教学的各个环节提供即时互动，支持个性化学习需求，提升学习效率。
