《实用视听说教程（下 学生用书）/精编版新标准高职公共英语系列教材》是在《实用听说教程》（学生用书第二版）的基础上，根据教学实际情况、在广泛征集使用该教材的高职英语教师的反馈意见和建议后精简编撰而成的。
《实用视听说教程》（学生用书精编版）包括上、下两册，上册选取学校和生活中常用的交际场景，下册选取工作中常用的交际场景。两册编写体例基本一致，每册教材均由八个单元组成，可供一个学期使用。
《实用视听说教程（下 学生用书）/精编版新标准高职公共英语系列教材》是其中的下册，由周国强、朱务诚、金杯、迟雯、闫卫锋等编。
