袁朝云编著的《重复翻译的本体研究》在通过对本体概念五个基本层面综合性、系统性的讨论，从本体论的视角对重复翻译现象进行研究，并以此为基础，建立重复翻译的评价体系。最后通过对《红楼梦》译文的个案研究为重复翻译的本体研究提供实证基础。作者在引言部分首先介绍了本文的写作背景。第一章是重复翻译研究的本体部分。第二章通过对翻译过程的研究，讨论了重复翻译的隐性理论原因与显性表层原因。第三章重点讨论了同一原文不同译本的关系问题。第四章是关于建立重复翻译评价体系的研究。本章通过对重复翻译批评和普通翻译批评的比较，详细分析了重复翻译批评。第五章是对《红楼梦》重复翻译现象的个案研究。通过对新中国成立前各译本的历时性对比研究和新中国成立后两译本的共时性对比研究。
