《法制与新闻》是一门全校公选的双语课。本课程的主要目的在于介绍新闻和法律有关的问题,如言论自由、消息自由、侵犯名誉、隐私、保密、新闻来源、新闻审查、广告、版权等。同时附以一些时事新闻,让学生在实文中学习相关新闻与法制的内容,了解国内及英美国家法制热点问题及动态,并通过范文的学习,掌握法制新闻及法律英语词汇、熟悉英语语篇规律,解读长句难句技巧,提高英语语言能力。本课程比较注重实践,运用一些视频材料,通过陈述、讨论、速读、复述、解释等手段教学,是学生学习法律英语的一门重要的辅助课程,并对提高学生的英语语篇阅读
