这本由郭晶晶、蒋阳建、张华志、邱立志主编的《新实用英语读写译教程(第1册)》主要体现三个方面的内容，阅读部分培养精读和泛读能力，精读部分含有两篇主题一致的主课文，配以综合训练，泛读部分含有三篇内容主题与主课文主题一致或者接近的阅读短文；写作设计了写作指导和写作练习，主要是应用写作和短文写作，培养学生日常应用能力；翻译部分由翻译技巧和翻译练习组成，训练学生英汉语言转换的能力。本书为读写译教程第1册，话题涉及交朋友、介绍、电脑、能源等贴近学生生活、工作的话题。
